Not sure what I’d do with the bulk of the money, but I would ask facility management to gather as many floor workers as they could in one spot so that I could tip them all about a grand each, then I’d ask management to hand deliver that amount to those who weren’t available or who weren’t working that shift. Not that they all deserved or earned it, but it would give people something to talk and think about for decades. What if there are more workers than I have money to tip? It’s just a fantasy. Don’t pop my bubble. Or I could just say “Here’s $400k to divide among yourselves”, then throw the cash in the air.

If I wan the first thing I would do is put down a retainer for a layer and accountant. Need to figure out how to minimize those taxes. Next thing a really really really nice meal. Third thing book a trip back home. Didn’t fly first class to get there why fly it back. If it’s a Sunday through Thursday I’m definitely calling in sick. Even after taxes, etc. you get $5-6.5 million that is enough for a really nice retirement (early). Talk to some professionals and figure out how to invest and live off the interest. After that was taken care of I would take an around the world vacation. When I got back I would need to buy a place to live and a car (maybe two). Then I would get around to quitting my job. Now it’s time (because you got plenty of it) to really live your best life. That hobby you wanted to pursue – you can do it. Hang out with friends and family – you can do it. Many lottery winners end up going broke within a few years so I would concentrate on money management and enjoying my life. I’d learn to cook foods I like, travel, photography/videography, get into playing Dungeons and Dragons. Watch some home improvement shows and try my hand at getting some tools and doing some projects.

In reply to Mike. Not much. But they put up with a lot of gruff from many customers. You just hit for a large amount, you can afford to tip something generous, whereas many will never tip. It doesn't hurt to share the good fortune with someone making minimum wage. Even the suits on the casino floor don't make much. But I get it. You dumped who knows how many thousands into casinos, finally won something meaningful, the tax man has his hand in your pocket, and now you're expected to give something to someone you've met for the first time and is doing a little paperwork. You certainly don't have to. But I'd feel good knowing I made the day (or year) of a regular Joe (or Jane) which didn't cost me much compared with what I won.
