Agreed, resort fee are modern robbery. As an tourist you have to pay 30 Dollar plus tax and more and what you get return is: nothing.
]]>I used to visit 5-6 times a year. Last year was 4 times. I’m flying out for my 2nd visit in a few weeks. My visits are dropping for two main reasons. First, airfare is criminal. $300 or less is justifiable for a long weekend. The current rates of $500 and up are unjustifiable. When I do pay those rates, it just takes money away from what I would spend while in Vegas.
Second, I feel like I’m being nickled and dimed to death. I’m comp’ed rooms, but that does not include resort fees, so I’m still paying up to $35 a night for something that is free. Before I even set foot in the casino I’m already down almost $700. It’s just not realistic for this to continue.
I love the town and always have fun, but where it was nothing to shoot there for a long weekend, so its a pause to see if I really want to spend that much money before the fun even starts.
]]>“As you noted, the sample size is suspect. I’ll go so far to say that is is a joke.”
Actually, you can get very accurate results with a sample size of this range. The keys to accuracy are selecting the right people to ask and ensuring that your questions are properly constructed.
]]>Not to mention free cigarettes. Those were the days. You could get liver failure AND lung cancer for free. It certainly beats paying for it.
]]>Not only do they charge you a resort fee, but they also charge a resort fee tax.
]]>Coop, you and me both.
Me and the missus are doin’ a little recon trip in 2 weeks and if we don’t like how things are at our usual comped casino/hotel, we’re gonna have to find a new place.
Actually, it was. When was the last time you received a Fun Book when you signed up for a slot club card?
With match plays for BJ, craps, spin wheel and roulette? Plus a couple of buy one/ get one drinks?
How ’bout a $1 Heineken, Becks or Corona?
$1.99 breakfast special?
$4.99 Binion’s T-bone steak dinner?
I don’t think Vegas was ever a cheap vacation. It was always good at creating the illusion of being a cheap vacation.
